Hale Centre Theatre will hold auditions Monday August 24, for Seven Brides for Seven Brothers playing October 15 – November 28th, 2009. The show will be produced by David and Corrin Dietlein, directed and choreographed by Cambrian James. Call back’s will be held on Wednesday August 26th. Monday’s audition will consist of two parts: the dance call at 7PM, and singing at 8PM. Be prepared to sing 16 bars of music, an accompanist will be provided. Be prepared to move for the dance call. Those auditioning for the roles of “Millie” and “Adam” only, do not need to attend the 7PM dance call, but you will need to attend the singing portion of the audition beginning at 8PM. ALL ACTORS NEED TO SCHEDUDLE AUDITION APPOINTMENTS BY CALLING THE BOX OFFICE AT: 480-497-1181. Auditions will be held at the Hale Theater located at 50 West Page Avenue in Gilbert, 85233. Performances run Thurs. – Sat. evenings with Saturday matinees at 3PM. A gas stipend of $300.00 will be given to each actor.
Character Breakdown
Milly (Mezzo, 25 – 35) A spunky, independent woman. Marries Adam. Must move well.

Adam Pontipee (Baritone, 30 – 40) A bull-headed, rugged countryman but earnest bachelor.

Gideon (Tenor, 16 – 20) The youngest Pontipee. Earnest & naive. Must dance

Benjamin, Caleb, Daniel, Ephraim, Frank (20 – 35) Pontipee brothers. All must dance

Alice, Dorcas, Ruth, Liza, Martha, Sarah (16 – 35) Pontipee brides. All must sing and dance .

Rival Suitors: Jeb, Carl, Luke, Matt, Joel, Zeke. All must dance.

Townspeople: Preacher, Mr. Bixby, Mrs. Bixby, Mr. Perkins, Mrs. Perkins

The Director:

Cambrian James is an accomplished dancer, actor, director and award-winning choreographer. Productions Cambrian has directed/choreographed at HCT include JOSEPH…, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL, THE MUSIC MAN, LUCKY STIFF, SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, and THE LITTLE MERMAID. Productions he choreographed at HCT include FOOTLOOSE, FOREVER PLAID, CHRISTMAS CAROL, CAMELOT, BRIGADOON, and most recently THE KING AND I. Last September Cambrian directed/choreographed BLACKBEARD at the Herberger Theatre. Up coming productions include TWO BY TWO at Tempe Little Theatre, and THE SOUNDS OF PLAID at Greasepaint Youth Theatre. Cambrian will also be directing/choreographing this years AriZoni awards ceremony. Cambrian is the proud recipient of four AriZoni awards, with an additional five nominations this year.
