United Food Bank Makes Turkey Donation Easy
Knowing how hectic the holidays can be, United Food Bank is making it easy to donate turkeys by extending hours and staffing their parking lot for their annual Turkey Drop Off. Just drive up, drop off your turkey (and any fixings you would like to add) and United Food Bank staff and volunteers will provide a receipt to you on the spot. No need to even get out of your car.
This year’s Turkey Drop Off begins the Saturday before Thanksgiving, November 21, 2009 and continues during the week of Thanksgiving.
Hours for the event are:
Saturday, November 21, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Monday, November 23 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Tuesday, November 24 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday, November 25 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
United Food Bank is located at 358 East Javelina Avenue in Mesa—just south of US 60 on the northwest corner of Mesa Drive and Javelina. Just look for the giant turkey!
The turkeys and fixings donated will help put a smile on the face of many children, seniors, men and women in the East Valley. And it will put a smile on your face, too, knowing you helped a neighbor in need.
Going out of town? Not hosting the holiday dinner this year? You can still help by making a monetary donation. You may drop it off in person or mail it to 358 E. Javelina Avenue, Mesa, AZ 85210. Credit cards are also welcome. For more information about donating or volunteering, please call 480.926.4897.
So, as you prepare the shopping list for your holiday feast, please consider being one of United Food Bank’s “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” this holiday season!
