Gilbert Leadership, a program of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce, is currently accepting applications from Gilbert residents and business leaders to participate in the program’s nineteenth class and will begin interviewing candidates in July.

Gilbert Leadership is a nine-month development program that brings together individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences to develop their leadership potential. The Gilbert Leadership program influences the community by building leadership capacity, increasing knowledge and awareness of community concerns, and by nurturing future leaders.

“For my personal capital, Gilbert Leadership has been the finest way for me to connect and give back to my community,” said Rod Bailey, president of the Gilbert Leadership Board and class XIII graduate. “The knowledge and information I have gained, in addition to the outstanding camaraderie, has been truly transformational in my life.”

More than 300 individuals have graduated from the program since its inception, including Vice Mayor Linda Abbott, past Mayor Cynthia Dunham, Assistant Town Manager Tami Ryall, Gilbert Chamber President and CEO Kathy Tilque, and many other community leaders.

Interested candidates should submit a completed application by May 30th. Program applications can be found online at gilbertaz.com/gilbertleadership. Applicants will be interviewed by a selection committee in July and the program will begin in September. Enrollment is limited to 25 class participants. Tuition is $500, due upon acceptance.
