			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Mesa Parks, Recreation and Commercial Facilities will be holding a free “Day of Play” to celebrate KaBOOM’s award of “Playful City USA” and its 75th anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Red Mountain Park, 7745 E. Brown Road.  The family fun event will have a Halloween theme and residents are encouraged to enter the costume contest and pumpkin decorating contest.  Please bring your pre-carved or decorated pumpkins in for judging. <p>Candy will also be provided for trick-or-treaters.  Entertainment and performances will be provided by Radio Disney AM 1580. The free party will also include bounce houses, rides, games, arts and crafts provided by Michael’s, police and fire vehicle displays, raffle prizes, food, and vendors plus a free movie showing of “Disney’s Spooky Buddies.”</p>
<p>“We want to celebrate KaBOOM’s award and our 75th anniversary with the community,” Mesa Parks, Recreation and Commercial Facilities Director Marc Heirshberg said.  “And I can’t think of a better way of doing so than with a free party in the park.  I’m proud of all the services and programs we provide to our residents and this is our way of saying thank you for supporting us for 75 years.” </p>
<p>Sponsors of this event include Radio Disney AM 1580, The Foundation for Mesa Parks and Recreation, and Phoenix Suns Operation Orange.  </p>

<p>All this happens on Saturday, October 24 from 5-9 p.m. at the Freestone Park Ball Field Complex located at 1045 E. Juniper Road (Lindsay/Juniper Roads). Admission is $4 for ages 4 though adult and free for ages 3 and under. Parking is free. Activity Ticket Prices are $25 for a Family Pack of 50 Tickets; $15 for 25 Tickets; $10 for 15 Tickets and $5 for 5 Tickets. (Rides/bounces are 2-3 tickets and games are 1 ticket.) </p>
