Kings ACE Hardware: Kings ACE Hardware in Mesa is more than your average hardware store. With a family-owned atmosphere and customer service that goes above and beyond the norm, this store can satisfy any do-it-yourselfer.

For more than three and a half years, Gary and Kathy King and their daughter Christine have been making a trip to the hardware store seem more like visiting with old friends. An experienced and knowledgeable employee is always on hand to guide customers in the right direction, regardless of their project. Whether it be remodeling, gardening or replacing windows, someone there can help.

There’s more to Kings than just helping a customer find what they need and sending them on their way. The staff will walk customers step by step through the process of installing or assembling the items they buy. The store even will assemble bigger purchases for free before leaving the store. They can repair broken items; are contracted to make screens for doors and windows; provide locksmithing and key cutting services, and even offer glass cutting as well.

Kings also has a paint department that can match any color of any brand of paint with the same quality. Customers can buy items in bulk, can order online and have items shipped to the store with no shipping fees, and can get savings cards. And even after all this… they deliver, too!

More than 100,000 items are available in the Kings ACE Hardware warehouse. And if customers cannot find what they are looking for, the Kings’ are more than happy to track it down and custom order it. The Kings’ also put in the extra effort to adapt their inventory to meet the needs of the community. They know what their customers need, and make sure that they have those custom-type materials in stock.

Kings ACE Hardware is located at 2842 N. Power Road in Mesa. The store is open 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. The only time Kings closes is Easter, Christmas and New Years, so you can almost always get what you need.

The Acupuncture Clinic: Many people are looking for ways to restore harmony and balance to their body and life. They want to feel better, have more energy and find that greater sense of wellbeing that seems to be missing. The team of holistic practitioners at The Acupuncture Clinic and Whole Body Therapy has combined their expertise to provide a wide variety of positive solutions.

Three years ago, Mindy Hayden and Tanya Christensen decided to open a natural health care clinic together. They enjoy working side by side; yet also remain independent in their own styles. Both women are Arizona State Licensed Acupuncturists and are nationally board certified by NCCAOM. Both of them also have specialized training from their studies here in the U.S. and abroad in Beijing, China.

Mindy has been a registered nurse since 1997. After becoming increasingly aware of the limitations of allopathic medicine to treat many conditions and imbalances, she decided to study Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. Her specialties include all facets of women’s health, with a focus on internal medicine, skin conditions, anxiety and stress-related conditions, menopause and infertility.

Tanya has been a licensed massage therapist since 1997. She is a former massage therapy instructor with special training in Deep Tissue, Myofacial Release, Bowen Therapy, Cranio Sacral and Tui Na. She often combines modalities to more effectively treat patients’ conditions. While she has extensive experience treating back, neck, carpal tunnel and TMJ pain, she also specializes in chronic pain, anxiety disorders, and gastro-intestinal issues.

Tana Elliott has joined the team, adding Life Coaching, Energy Re-balancing, intuitive work, Hypnotherapy, NLP, Aromatherapy, and Bach Flower remedies to the portfolio of options at the clinic. Tana has been practicing holistic healing for more than 20 years.

These women provide individualized and comprehensive acupuncture treatments, being careful to maintain exceptional healthcare standards. The clinic is completely HIPAA and OSHA compliant and uses only prepackaged, one time use sterile needles that are 100 percent disposable. They are used once on one patient, and then they go into a special sharps container that is shipped off and properly disposed of (as required by law).

The clinic offers a wide range of healing modalities, including Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Moxa, Therapeutic Massage, Hypnotherapy, Life Coaching, Energy Rebalancing, Cupping, Gua sha, Tui Na, Magnetic Therapy, Aromatherapy, Bach Flower Remedies and Nutritional Counseling. So as you can see, there are a number of treatments available besides Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine that are effective to help people return to a state of health and wellbeing. A client can expect to receive a comprehensive and extensive evaluation during the initial consultation to determine the most ideal and beneficial treatment.

“Even though various types of pain are the main reason people seek out our help, acupuncture is effective in giving relief for pain and many other conditions. Many people are willing to try acupuncture because they have tried everything else and nothing has really given them the relief or results they are looking for, so they come in to see us. When nothing else works, they end up at our place, and they typically get better.”

The Tone Zone: Let’s face it: Big gyms can be intimidating. Fending for yourself on machines that look like they could double as torture devices tends to lack appeal.

Luckily, there’s another option.

“We specialize in training for women who don’t like big gyms,” said Judy Neill, owner of and trainer at The Tone Zone.

Originally started by another trainer 12 years ago, Neill is heading into her third year as owner, with sister/co-owner Debbie Basom, also a trainer. With a degree in physical education, exercise has always been Neill’s business.

“We have equipment that the big gyms don’t have,” Neill said. Two pieces of equipment in particular that The Tone Zone offers – that other gyms wish they had – are the Power Plate and Gravity Trainers.

“The Tone Zone is the only gym in the northeast valley that has these machines and we encourage anyone to come by and try them out.”

There’s no need to be intimidated by the unfamiliar machinery, though, because Neill’s staff is fully certified with the machines to train customers how to use them.

The Tone Zone has four fully certified staff (both ACE and NFPT certified personal trainers) as well as certification specific to our unique training machines.

Several exercise options are available: Customers can choose to work one-on-one with a trainer or join the group training. With group training, there is one certified trainer to no more than six students per class; sometimes the ratio is as low as one to three, according to Neill.

“With group training you pay per month and get two hours a week. Classes and training times are available Monday – Saturday, 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., call for availability.
According to Neill, customers who pay monthly spend approximately $15 an hour for the group training, which is very affordable.

Gravity Trainers use gravity for resistance and work on a pulley system to not only strengthen the muscles but lengthen them as well. This is very appealing to women because it creates a longer, leaner muscle. Pilates is also incorporated to provide additional strengthening to the core.

And, The Tone Zone is offering a spring Special: Gravity Training – buy one month and get half off the second month ($200 value). And, the company’s one-on-one training special is $45 an hour, which is a highly competitive deal.

If you’re still not sure, Neill says: “We would love to have people come in and visit us to see what we offer.”

Visit The Tone Zone at 4450 101 E. McLellan Road in Mesa or call 602-769-8144 for more information.
