July:
East Valley Women’s Skin & Laser Group, PLLC:
Well ladies, its officially here (gulp) swimsuit season.
With temperatures loitering in the triple digits, there is no hiding
from it. But with a little help from East Valley Womens Skin and
Laser Group (EVWSLG), you wont have to.
Brooke Hartshorn, Licensed Aesthetician and Certified Laseographer,
joined EVWSLG in November of 2007.
Working in a doctors office is perfect for me. I wanted
a more medical aspect in aesthetics, Hartshorn said. Its
a bit safer and more secure for patients coming in as well. I have a
medical director right here on site all the time.
So as an extension of the East Valley Womens Medical Group, what
do they provide?
We offer pretty much every laser treatment thats out there
right now, Hartshorn said. Laser hair reduction, affirm
skin rejuvenation, scar reduction, skin tightening, acne treatments,
vein and pigment reduction, stretch mark reduction, chemical peels and
facials, and we also do waxing and body treatments.
All procedures are done with top of the line Cynosure lasers, which
combine whats usually done in multiple treatments into one, thereby
completing the procedure in less time and with better results than procedures
completed using other lasers.
EVWSLG is particularly excited about offering Lipodissolve and SmartLipo
procedures performed by Dawn DeRoo, RNC, WHNP and Dr. Stephine Kramer,
M.D.,(Board Certified OB/GYN) the staff medical director.
[SmartLipo] is an in-office procedure that allows us to liposuction
under local anesthesia, Dr. Kramer explained.
Lipodissolve is another nonsurgical option that involves an injection
that allows fat to be melted away.
Its a wonderful way to help lose weight and have quick results,
Dr. Kramer said.
Both of these options are virtually painless and take up a minimal amount
of your time. Dr. Kramer says that you may want to take it easy for
a couple of days, but for most people theres no pain associated
with the procedure.
If you have a fast growing belly for other reasons, theres something
for you, too.
We do a pregnancy body treatment as well, Hartshorn said.
Its called Tummy Time and its basically like a facial
on your belly.
Come in when your stomach starts expanding. The staff will exfoliate,
and then use a warm paraffin mask, which hydrates and soothes the skin.
While the paraffin mask sits, mom-to-be gets a blissful shoulder, neck,
leg and foot massage.
Call now because East Valley Womens Skin & Laser Group is
currently offering 40 percent off individual laser treatments (SmartLipo
and Lipodissolve are excluded), and you can create packages with that
as well. They also have Care Credit, which is their free financing option.
East Valley Womens Skin and Laser Group is located at 10238 East
Hampton Ave Suite 212 in Mesa. They are open Monday - Friday 8 a.m.
to 5 p.m.
Visit the EVWSLG website at www.evwslg.com
for more information or call them at 480-889-2623 to set up a consultation,
because your skin is as important to them as it is to you.
Red Mountain Family Chiropractic: Imagine
living every day with excruciating pain, or maybe you don't have to
imagine. Well, inflamed backs, auto injuries, sports injuries, asthma
and sinus problems - you've met your match in Lynn Knuth, D.C. at Red
Mountain Family Chiropractic, in practice since 2005.
"I have a lady who's been on antihistamines and stuff for allergies,
and she was the biggest skeptic [of chiropractics] you'd ever meet,"
Dr. Knuth said. "She asked if I could help her and now she's been
off all medication for months. She's not been having any problems, any
pain or pressure in her sinuses."
Dr. Knuth has a drawer full of testimonials like these, and they all
strike a chord with her.
Knuth was a certified personal trainer for fifteen years when she met
someone who attended chiropractic school. What she learned convinced
her to complete a chiropractic program herself.
"What chiropractic does is to heal the body from within,"
Knuth said. "So basically I'm not healing anybody. All I'm doing
is taking the roadblocks away so that the body can heal itself naturally
- no drugs, no surgery."
And chiropractics can fix more than just pain.
"A lot of people
when they start getting adjusted, they sleep
better; kids with hyperactivity seem to settle down. People with asthma
or acid reflux, it goes away. And I had three patients go off their
Viagra since being adjusted. That's my favorite story," Knuth laughs.
And that's not all she can do. She has had tremendous results with something
called a cold laser, which basically regenerates nerves producing a
more rapid healing. Dr. Knuth can give her own testimonial on that.
"I broke a toe
and that was on a Sunday. By Thursday I was
back in sneakers running on a treadmill," Knuth said.
Cold laser can be performed on anyone. It was used to heal an infant's
arm paralyzed in birth (in only a month and a half the baby boy regained
full use of the arm). The laser was even used on a small dog.
And, starting on September 2, 2008, Red Mountain Family Chiropractic
will offer even more services with their new location at McKellips Road
and North Alta Mesa Drive. The new location is larger, with a spa facility
and a physiotherapy area where a trainer will work.
Dr. Knuth and her staff, including Naturopathic Services and a unique
weight-loss program, as well as Reflexology, can be found: Monday, Wednesday,
Friday 8:30-12:00 p.m. and 2:30-6:00 p.m.; and Tuesday and Thursday
4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Call 480-924-7632 to set up a free consultation
with Dr. Knuth. Red Mountain Family Chiropractic is located at 1829
N Power Road, behind Peter Piper Pizza, in the Safeway shopping center.
Or visit their website at www.rmfchiro.net
for more information, including directions.
"The more people that we can help, the happier that we all are,"
Knuth said.
