Treasures from the Past Antiques: Have you ever been told you can’t relive the past? Well, at Treasures from the Past Antiques, you can.

“It’s almost like stepping back in time, because you come in and recognize things from your past,” said Debby Ritterskamp, advertising administrative manager for the store.

Since 1994, Treasures from the Past Antiques has acted as a sort of exclusive mall for antiques, with more than 100 vendors inside the building. The store rents space to the vendors, providing them with a place to sell their merchandise.

With a setup like that, it’s easy to imagine the kind of selection they provide.

“Some vendors have garden pieces; another has French country pieces; another has western pieces,” Ritterskamp said. “Most of the dealers are pretty eclectic. There’s a lot of variety.”

From furniture to jewelry to toys to coins, there is something there for everybody, whether you are an avid collector or a casual shopper. With so many options, the shopping experience might sound like it would be overwhelming, yet it is anything but.

“What I hear most often from our frequent shoppers is that [shopping here] is the way they like to unwind and relax,” Ritterskamp said. “Some piece will bring up a good memory. People say, ‘Oh, I remember when my mom had that.’ It’s very soothing.”

The aisles are wide and easy to maneuver around in. The store is well lit and clean. It always has decorated vignettes. And when it comes to where to go to find what, the dealers know where to direct you and how to help you.

“I really think this is probably the nicest, prettiest store I’ve been in,” Ritterskamp said. “It’s a really good environment.” When it comes down to it, there’s just something special about the antique items.

“Each piece has its own personality, and you know they last longer than anything you’re going to buy now in the stores,” Ritterskamp said.

With the tourist season starting up and the holidays upon us, there are some good deals to be had, as well. Next up will be the after-Thanksgiving sale, running Nov. 23-25. Certain pieces could be up to 50 percent off; some may be even a bit more. You never know when you’ll find a real treasure at Treasures from the Past Antiques.

“Who knows?” Ritterskamp said. “You might know something the dealer doesn’t.”

Treasures from the Past Antiques is located at 106 E. McKellips Road in Mesa. Hours are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Thursday 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m.-6 p.m. For more information, call 480-655-0090

AZ Red Mountain Eye Care: “Family is our Business” is the motto of AZ Red Mountain Eye Care in Mesa. They strive to give every customer a personalized and detailed visit each and every time. From the optometrist’s chair, to the selection of eye-ware, you will get the full attention of all the staff members at AZ Red Mountain Eye Care.

Owner and optometrist Dr. Jeremy Olsen has been in the Optometric profession for several years. After working in the field following his graduation from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis Tennessee, Dr. Olsen soon noticed how to improve the offices in which he worked. After much consideration, he figured it was in his best interest to be a family man and a businessman, and open an office of his own. One where he could do everything the way he felt it should be done, and become part of the ever-improving world of Optometry.

Opening in September of last year AZ Red Mountain Eye Care offers clients a brand new facility, with all of the latest and greatest equipment. And, although they are a smaller office, they have more diagnostic equipment than most. So you get all the same treatments available in a bigger office, but with less chaos, less waiting time to be seen, and more attention from the doctor.

While many other offices claim to be family Optometry Offices, unlike many of the other facilities, AZ Red Mountain Eye Care and Doctor Olsen offer pediatric eye care. You can bring in the whole family. Starting at 18 months, if you have concerns about your little ones’ eyes, you can bring them in to the same office as yourself, and your parents. Along with pediatric care, Dr. Olsen also provides standard adult eye care, contact lens fitting, disease management, and pre/post operative care.

Dr. Olsen has the opportunity to share his success with two amazing Opticians to whom he gives much credit. Tasha Vineyard and Megan Myers help him keep his office up and running the way it should be, measuring up to his high standards of personal attention.

Once the exams and fittings are over, AZ Red Mountain Eye Care offers over 600 frames to choose from, including brand names; sunglasses; regular and colored contacts; and all necessary supplies to keep your glasses and contacts clean and safe.

Earnhardt RV : If you are driving down Main Street near Gilbert Road in Mesa, it’s hard to miss the 26-acre lot gleaming with rows of RVs, fifth wheels and travel trailers at Earnhardt RV.

Doing business in Mesa since 1981, Earnhardt RV is one of the largest RV dealers in the state, and it has the inventory to prove it. Whether you are looking for new or used, Class A or Fifth Wheel, or even trailers and toy haulers, Earnhardt RV has something for everyone.

Many people picture the typical RV buyer as a retired couple looking to roam the country, but as corporate sales manager Kevin Wise puts it, RV travel “is now embraced by anyone looking to spend more time with their family and see the greatest country on earth.” And truly, there may be no better way to spend some extended quality time with loved ones.

No matter what the demographic, a motor home can be a luxurious way to travel. One example of a Class A motor home you’ll find at Earnhardt RV is the Alfa See Ya!, which includes such luxury features as a flat-screen TV, GPS navigation system and ceramic tile in the kitchen and bath. Wise explains that RVs are now “incorporating residential features like granite surfaces, flat-screen TVs, surround-sound entertainment packages, ceramic tile floors, residential decors and fixtures, and floor plans with more than one bathroom. We like to call it ‘wheel estate’!”

Wise has been in the RV industry his whole life, beginning with an RV lot his grandparents opened in 1948, and he has been with Earnhardt RV for 15 years. His enthusiasm for the products he represents is contagious, and many people can relate to his sentiments when he recalls, “My best memories are the times we took an RV on a weekend or extended trip.” Sometimes those long weekends call for your “toys,” as well. Wise has noticed that toy haulers have been a top seller recently, as more and more people head out for some fun with their quads, motorcycles or sand rails. Conveniently, though, a toy hauler can be used to haul almost anything you need to take on the road with you.

In addition to a full line of recreational vehicles, Earnhardt RV also boasts a service center that provides repairs, maintenance and installation of those accessories you just have to have. Parts and accessories can also be ordered online directly from the Earnhardt RV website.

Earnhardt RV is located at 2222 E. Main St., between Gilbert Road and Lindsay. It is open Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Call 800-530-8438 or visit www.earnhardtrv.com.
