Lunch
at the Grandview Steak House

For July's restaurant
review, we decided to take a couple of friends and pay the Grandview
Steakhouse Restaurant and Lounge at the Painted Mountain Golf Resort
a visit. We ascended a wide spiral staircase from the parking lot
and entered the eatery. We were welcomed into a large dining room
by a friendly hostess. Along the perimeter of the dining room, tall
windows offer views of the golf course and of Red Mountain. The feel
of the restaurant is that of a country club: comfortable, plush furniture,
and conservative, tasteful décor in desert colors - desert
sage, sandy yellow, earth brown, etc. The hostess seated us next to
a window overlooking the green, and handed us menus to peruse.
The menu features
a good range of eats: "A Taste of the Southwest", "Lunch
Specialties", "Fresh Salads"; "Delicious Sandwiches"
and "Awesome Burgers". They also have a salad bar. After
taking a good long look at the menu, we made our choices. Frank caught
a glimpse of a patron enjoying the Taco Salad on his way in and couldn't
shake the delectable image from his mind, his choice was made. I went
with the Sage Cream Chicken. Christine chose the Deluxe Croissant
with chicken salad and fries. Aida ordered the Grilled Rueben Sandwich
with fries.
The Taco salad,
served in a large, deep fried tortilla, was layered with lettuce,
seasoned ground beef, pico de gallo, black olives and cheese, and
came with a side of guacamole, sour cream and extra salsa. Frank was
very happy with his choice. The Sage Cream Chicken arrived as a plate
full of spinach linguini with a white, sage-infused cream with tender
carrots and zucchini, atop which rode a lightly browned breast of
chicken. Along the side of the plate, two pieces of garlic toast crisped
up the situation. The meal was absolutely delicious - I almost couldn't
stop myself from devouring the whole thing. Christine's chicken salad
was fairly traditional with chicken, red peppers, onions and a mayonnaise
based dressing. The chicken salad was served on a fresh, crispy croissant
with markedly fresh lettuce and tomato, alongside seasoned steak fries
and a short stack of dill pickle slices. Christine was happy. Aida's
Rueben was traditional as well: corned beef, sour kraut, Thousand
Island dressing nestled between two hefty slices of marble rye bread,
then grilled to perfection. Thankfully, she let me try it - it was
heavenly! Her sandwich was served, as Christine's was, with steak
fries and a stack of dill pickle slices. Just as everyone else, Aida
was pleased with her choice.
We were genuinely
impressed during our visit to the Grandview Steakhouse Restaurant
and Lounge. I thought it was a really nice place to enjoy a lovely
meal over which I could easily converse with my friends - without
loud music or other noise to contend with. I would recommend you give
them a try. The Grandview Steakhouse Restaurant and Lounge located
at 6210 E McKellips Rd in Mesa, between Recker and Power Roads at
the Painted Mountain Golf Resort. If I missed anything, give them
a call: (480) 832-0158. If you go, tell them NearbyNews sent you.
Enjoy!
